Spatial Information Systems

This programme concentrates on the development of new generation information systems.  It is based on the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which enable both simple presentation of information to farmers as well as incorporating powerful analytical tools to analyse data that has a spatial distribution.

The research has three aims:

  • Development of GIS based tools
  • Development of new sensors and data capture tools that can leverage off the spatial information systems, as well as provide new information streams
  • Development of predictive  tools (e.g. quality, productivity)
